A busy day at St.Bernard's Station see trains coming and going in all shapes and forms. Frequent LCE high speed passenger trains and seen with a mixture of goods and local shuttles. The 218 diesels in this video were made by PIKO. The LCE was made by LGB. The Rolling stock is a mixture of LGB and PIKO. Thanks for Watching and keep following.
The St. Bernard's station reconstruction is right in the middle of completion however the build is 5 day behind schedule. All engines available are being used but with the big work order, Safety, general maintenance and care have been effected. Can it be pulled off with the grand opening date set for just 4 days time or will the strain of the work order put this project in to dangerous and risky situation? Disaster strikes the CFR when the St. Bernard's Station redevelopment is pushed later and later back with only 4 days until the Grand opening! The big work order has resulted in safety; general maintenance and care become one of the last priorities. Failure to inform the fitters of a slipping reverser and carelessly leaving the brakes off when both the Driver and fireman leave the cab to help the guard uncouple the stiff coupling could result in disastrous consequences leaving the grand opening of St. Bernard's the last thing on their minds!
Devastation when not one but 2 massive crashes take place on the CFR. Sloppy and careless attention from one of the driving teams has a huge conscience on the railways future. Are they really to blame though? The St. Bernard's Station redevelopment program has pushed very one to their limits. Is it the time scale for completion to be blamed for the lack of attention to safety, general maintenance and care? Last night after the train crash, all train were halted where they were and a rapid response team we set the task of getting the railway out of this predicament. A plan has been devised to sort things out but the St Bernard's redevelopment has been put on the back burner. The Grand opening day has arrived but nothing much to show for it. Thomas discovers the breakdown train and is told the reasons why it is used. Before long, James has an accident with his trucks and Thomas must take the breakdown train to help him. The Fat Controller is so pleased, he gives Thomas his own branch line. Filmed at the Charnwood Forest Garden Railway
The 12.45 goods train from Priory goods yard was late off the siding as there was a delay in emptying the train. It has now missed its time slot and the rest of the afternoon is timetabled to be busy. The is no chance of fitting in to the operations of the railway without delaying other service so a early running goods going the same way was stopped and two long set were made into one. Two engines are tackeled with the task of getting to there destination on time without delay or wheel slip. Not a problem?
